In an organization, managing process is critical to determining the quality of output. Processes entail various steps which should be followed chronologically to ensure that there is adherence to approved standards of both products and services. However, the participants in the video explained various factors which undermine the quality of a process in turn affecting the overall outcome negatively. One of the key factors that was noted was that during processes, individuals might be complacent hence not realizing whether they have followed the right steps or not (Radogna, 2013). In such a case, reliability of the process is challenged or undermined and can be seen through an assessment of the end result. The participants explained that having a team of individuals who monitor a process can help avoid situations where key steps are skipped thereby affecting the quality of outcomes (Radogna, 2013). Operation control is also cited as a key strategy to determine and verify the reliability of a process. According to Hoerl and Snee (2012) understanding a process is critical to promoting changes thereby allowing better operation of the process. In this regard, control functions as a tool to guide the process ensuring that major steps are followed.
