A Class Divided and White Privilege: The Reality of Racism in America

Part A: A Class Divided 

The discussion that applying the golden rule in real-life situations would help eliminate the incidences of racial discrimination is true. People can always see each other based on the ethnic factors such as color or place of origin. It is true that this can lead to serious conflict that is racially based and even lead to violence. However, applying the golden rule can make everyone see both sides of discrimination, and this can lead to a mutual understanding. Introducing children to the golden rule where they want to treat others as they would love to be treated can be useful in eliminating racism in the future generation. This can help build moral values and ethics among the children as they grow and this can help develop a society that is free from racism and racially based conflicts. It can also have a long-term benefit to the community as a whole. However, as it stands, racism and racial discrimination have continued to exist even though it has significantly been reduced 

Part B: White Privilege 

While the world has made great steps towards achieving gender equality and eliminating gender discrimination, it is not true that discrimination against the female has been completely removed. This is because men have continued to dominate in many sectors including politics and the economy. Even though women are rising rapidly and taking up the privileges that were previously dominated by men, there is still much more to be done if discrimination against the female is to be curbed. Men remain dominant in many roles compared to women and that the roles could soon be reversed is most unlikely to occur. While they have joined many careers such as the military which was previously reserved for the male, it remains a fact that men still dominate most areas and much has to be done if the roles are to be equal.
