The article presented has been written to discuss the significant health issues that affect citizens in Europe. Termed as chronic illnesses, cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, unhealthy diet, and sedentary lifestyle have been cited as the leading causes of the European countries' mortality rate increase. The European Union formed A joint task force between the government and several stakeholders to analyze ways to reduce these chronic illnesses.

Despite the overflow of data discussing chronic illnesses such as cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, sedentary lifestyle, an unhealthy diet, it is still uncertain how best to tackle these issues and help those affected. According to Rodrigues et al., (2018), the inclusion of nationalists, European union stakeholders, and local actors puts Europe closer to understanding the issues that galvanize the spread of these chronic illnesses and how to remedy the situation.

Participants were divided into four groups, one for each chronic illness, and exposed to a series of focus group discussions for four days. Each session was audio-recorded and facilitated by a mediator and a note-taker. Topics tackled in these groups included main challenges associated with cross-national campaigns, the structural challenges present in cross-national health, specific risk factors associated with these challenges, and the supranational bodies' role concerning the issues hand (Rodrigues et al., 2018). Mediators then analyzed the collected results following an inductive approach that involved reading and transcribing each said word into a category according to what was repeated by each individual in each group then running those results into an analytical software that further broke down the participant's response into nine themes that indicated their main challenges and risk factors.

These challenges and risk factors included operational divide between supra-national and local actors, varying health behaviors, cultural and social norms, language difference and different utilization of communication channels, differences in institutional contexts and structural conditions, framing of the message, involvement of industry as partners, and value of cross-national health campaigns. Each of these themes is discussed in-depth in the article; however, majorly agreed on among the participants, their mediators, and nationalists were fundamental value in ensuring such campaigns were frequently held if these chronic illnesses were to be curbed.
