The united states army was founded in the year 1775 (Gudmundsson, 2009) . It was established during the American invasion period by the British military. The primary responsibility of the military is fighting battles and protect the states against external and internal invasion. In 1947, the army was relatively small until recently when it moved from the department of war to the defense department. It has fought the Indian wars(the 1790s), the American civil war (1861-65), Spanish-American war (1898) and world war among many others (Gudmundsson, 2009) .
During 1775, in the American revolutionary period, the Americans did not have an army. They were purely based on fights that involved civilian-militia. However, in the late 1780s, a militia was formed to have a united force with a common aim. In the war including the Canadian invasion, in 1812, it proved a fierce war, and it failed (Harrison, 2011) . However, the fight against the British army was quite tough, but Winfield Scott and Jacob Brown were able to pull outsources and win this war in the Niagara campaign of 1814. In the 1846-48, the primary roles of the US army were to fight Native Americans and the invasion of the Indians. The Indians denied the US expansion of their continent (Harrison, 2011) .

In 1917, the US army formed the national army that was staged to fight the world war 1. And the command of the united states was established in the world war 2. The end of the world war two however created a cold war between superpowers then. The break of the Korean conflict however led to the formation of NATO (Harrison, 2011) . In the attack of September 11, the US and NATO invaded Afghanistan. The Taliban government was then replaced in 2001. The army, however, helped the invasion of Iraq in 2003
