A letter of intent for Doctoral degree

One of Abraham Maslow’s categories of needs is self-actualization. To a great extent, his ideologies on self-actualization govern various important aspects of my life. I believe that attaining a doctoral degree will contribute significantly towards my desires for self-actualization. I have always envisioned achieving the highest level of education our system has to over since I was a child. Even when I was not aware of this desire for self-actualization, I knew that education was how I would impact the world more positively. It is why I have ensured to work hard through every level and pushed towards the next. A doctoral degree marks a significant in achieving my self-actualization goals and my overall dream in life. 

With a doctoral degree, I believe I will impact the lives of young people positively by offering them a quality education. I will manage to be an effective professor as I am envisioning and thus help my students achieve their goals in education. I will be more confident in my articulation and overall presentation as a professor and educationalist because I will have the right tools and training to achieve these. I further believe that my journey towards self-actualization would be a step closer as a doctoral degree will help me achieve this need to a great extent. 

Success in achieving my doctoral degree will be determined by how well I manage my time and the hard work I put into this crucial life achievement. I will dedicate a significant part of my time into my studies and increased research into my area of specialization. I have identified a mentor who will help guide me through this season of my life and help keep me on track. I also believe that an overall life balance will be crucial in helping me maintain focus. I will therefore ensure to develop other aspects of my life and take some time off to rejuvenate. I believe that keeping within the given time frame for achieving this degree will help catapult me towards my desired success.
