The authors of the article examine an archeological record at Leang Burung 2. This archeological record is a key early human occupation site that is located at the Southeast of Asia. The archeological record which had been initially excavated in 1975 has had a significant impact on the human understanding of the early human disposal. Leang Burung 2 is one of the largest as well as the oldest island in the eastern parts of Asia. The limestone roc shelter site has been renowned for its beauty and uniqueness as it leads in the high rates of species of animals. It is suggested based on the archeological findings from the limestone site that the early human beings may have first settled in this region over the past 50000 years ( Brumm et al., 2018) . At this site, two major archeological discoveries have been made during the pre-historical times on the early settlement of human beings in the area. The first discovery is the uranium series dating and the paintings present in the rock, an indication that early human beings could have settled in this place. A second discovery is the situ stone artifacts bearing the fossil strata revealed from the excavation of the open site in the depression in the rock.

The authors of this article have made their writing clear and easy to understand. Based on the analysis of the previous literature as well as a collection of the primary source of information, the authors have made their arguments clear and comprehensible. The clarity of the writing is further enhanced by the presentation of maps that allows the reader to view the location of the limestone rock. The authors also use clear and simple academic words in the writing in a way that make it serve its key purpose. The arguments of the authors are convincing and realistic. While the authors argue that there is evidence to show the settlement of early human beings on the limestone rock at Leang Burung 2, the authors do not leave the reader to guess but instead provides evidence to back up the claim. The authors use the two recent studies, the uranium series which discovered human paintings in the rock, and the deep-trench excavations at the open site of Talepu in the east part of Asian ( Brumm et al., 2018 ). With this evidence, the authors prove their argument and make it easy to convince the reader. The argument is further made convincing because the authors relied on a variety of literature from the previous research conducted by the historians to prove his argument and to make the argument more convincing to the reader. The logical arrangement of the points by the author which allows the reader to logically move through the article and get a clear view of the whole arguments. The abstract, as well as the introduction, provides the reader with a clear view of the topic. By just reading the introduction, the reader is left with suspense to read the whole article and get to understand the arguments.

The authors enhance the comprehension of the reader by presenting visual aids taken from the site during the study. Throughout the article, the authors have presented the images of rocks excavated from the site, the images of the limestone rock and that of people. These images were taken by the authors during the 2011 visit to the place. These visual aids help the reader not only to comprehend the arguments that the author is trying to portray but also to make the reader develop a visual analysis of the article. The images of Glover’s 1975 excavation at Leang Burung 2 is an indication that the information that the author has presented is a primary source of information thus making the article more credible. However, the authors of this article have not demonstrated to the reader the method of data analysis and evaluation. While the research is done and confirmed by the images, there is no appropriate method of data analysis and interpretation. As a result of this, the authors may be biased in some of their conclusion concerning the topic. Proper research requires that the researchers demonstrate the data analysis method that hasbeen used.

At the introduction, the authors stated that the research aims at proving the dating evidence and the existence of early human beings in the area. At the end of the study, the authors accomplish what they said they would do by concluding to confirm their argument.

In conclusion, the authors of the article have made clear and comprehensive arguments that can convince the reader to agree with the arguments. With the use of visual aids to present their points, the authors not only comes clear to the reader but also provides evidence as proof. The information presented by the authors in the article is useful as it gives a clear view of the whole area under study. The authors have also used a logical argument and a comprehensible.
