Hi. I concur with you that understanding the world we live in changes our view and shapes the way we deal with issues. It is essential to understand the healthcare system, the participants and ethical issues. In the book of Job, (chapter 8:8-10), Job advises people to enquire on the knowledge of the forefathers, what they found out for we came on the face of the earth yesterday and we know nothing. Consulting the past will enable people to gain the knowledge they may not discover on their own.

All Americans receive healthcare, and most of them have healthcare insurance. However, many do not understand the insurance they use. The healthcare insurance began as a result of the Great Depression due to high medical costs which the patients could not meet. According to Shi & Shingh (2017), understanding the history of the healthcare and insurance will enable the consumers to have knowledge on the current healthcare reforms and make informed choices on the best health insurance policies and develop the healthcare system of the country. Therefore, all persons whether pursuing a career in healthcare, managers of businesses that deal with healthcare products and consumers should strive to understand the history of healthcare.

Some of the changes that have shaped the American healthcare include a change from an agricultural economy to industrialization as you have pointed, educational reforms and technological advancements. Industrialization led to urbanization. People in towns needed healthcare professionals as they moved from family medical care (Greenhalgh, 2015). Technological advancements have made it possible to carry out surgeries in hospitals. Discoveries have been made as a result of technological advancements. According to Feussner et al. (2016), there is still a need to support more research and implementation of discoveries to improve the quality of healthcare services.
