Identify and accurately describe in detail at least three academic resources or strategies that can be applied to the MSN program
The MSN program requires an individual who is committed to professional development since it promises diversity of knowledge and experiences. As I break ground, I am keen on ensuring that I have the requisite tools and resources to enhance chances for success. The most visible academic resource that I plan on using is mobile applications that provide nurses with current clinical knowledge. One of the mobile applications that I will use is the Davis Mobile NCLEX-RN Med-Surg that provides nursing students with study questions to enhance them to prepare for exams. The other app that I will rely on is the Pill identifier, which has been developed by Drugs.com to have a better understanding of medications. A student studying cannot ignore these applications, which align with a call to integrate technologies in clinical practice.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
The decision to join the MSN program at this institution aligns with my objective of becoming a practitioner who embraces evidence-based practice. In pursuit of this objective, I plan on consuming past literature that has published such studies. In such a case, I believe that Walden University Library has a ton of these studies, which I will be using to enhance my research skills. The library will be a vital resource that will allow me to access numerous materials that I will be using to complete assignments as well as my master’s thesis. The other academic resource that will enhance my MSN journey are nursing research databases that include Cochrane, CINAHL, and Medline. These databases are practical resources that provide information on the best practices in clinical practice. They will act as references that would help me in determining if the courses in the program align with expertise findings.
Identify and accurately describe in detail at least three professional resources that can be applied to success in the nursing practice in general or in a specialty.
An MSN program enhances students’ professional development by providing an avenue for gaining additional knowledge and becoming more competent. I believe that if I want to achieve career growth, I need to rely on both physical and human professional resources. The most obvious professional resource that I will have at my disposal is the faculty members ranging from program directors to the professors who teach various courses. When I was going through the College of Nursing’s website, I established that it prides in world-class nursing educators and professional who together have accumulated the requisite skills to excel. Most importantly, most of the faculty members are practitioners with many years of experience, making them experts in their fields. I am keen on collaborating with the faculty members so that I am in a position to glean knowledge that will equip me with the right attitude to undertake the program.
The other professional resource that I plan on exploiting is annual conferences related to nursing and healthcare discourse in general. Some of the conferences that I will be looking out for are the ones conducted by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. This conference provides nurses with opportunities for networking and professional growth. I will endeavor to attend this conference to connect with other practitioners who share my vision of improving clinical outcomes. Apart from the conferences, I will be reading and analyzing various journals on nursing and related discourses. Some of the journals that I will use to increase my chances of excelling in the MSN program are the American Journal of Nursing and Critical Care Medicine . These journals will provide me with insights into the latest developments in nursing and clinical practice.
Clearly and thoroughly explain in detail how you intend to use these resources, and how they might benefit you academically and professionally
The MSN program requires a lot of commitment, considering that it is a tough but necessary undertaking. I am prepared for the additional demands, having established that I plan on using both professional and academic resources at my disposal. One of the educational resources that I will be using is the mobile application that supports nursing education and clinical practice. I will use the applications to check the trend of examination questions to establish the areas that I need to focus on more. Apart from the mobile applications, I consider Walden University’s library a significant resource that contains academic materials. I will be spending up to two hours daily conducting additional research to improve my evidence-based practice knowledge. Similarly, I will be using the nursing database to come up with credible and authoritative evidence. The database will help me filter information, considering that there is a possibility of having biased studies that would compromise patient outcomes.
The MSN program is my opportunity to become an expert in a clinical field of my choosing. If I have to achieve this objective, I have to rely upon and use professional resources found in and out of Walden University. The College of Nursing faculty is the most valuable professional resource since they have accumulated expansive knowledge as educators and clinical practitioners. I will need to consult them on various aspects of the programs to be in a better position of excelling. Moreover, I will rely on annual conferences that are organized by various nursing organizations around the country. These conferences will allow me access to proceedings that focus on best clinical practices and approaches to health issues. Journals on nursing topics will supplement the annual conferences since they too contain objective and credible information. A combination of professional and academic resources will equip me with the requisite skills that will help me to approach the program from the point of knowledge.
