Acute postinfectious glomerulonephritis is prevalent in children and is not common in grown-ups (Kambham, 2012). The infection prevalence has significantly reduced in developed nations in the past five years. The disease is characterized by a sudden start of edema, abnormal levels of protein present in urine, hematuria and elevated blood pressure (Wang, 2015).Acute postinfectious glomerulonephritis is a representative illness of acute nephritic disease.

The study found that subjects with no diabetic glomerulosclerosis the complements of total respite appeared to be a youth, being a female, decreased creatinine levels and lack of a compromised immune system. By a multivariate statistics, both creatinine levels in serum and age were inversely related to total remission (Ponticelli, 2008). In addition, the findings did identify a correlation with any pathologic aspects or treatment plan using steroids. Both elevated blood sugar levels and old age were identified as the main predisposing factors for the development of the disease.

The research relates to the underlying pathophysiology of acute postinfectious glomerulonephritis. The study looks into the causes and etiology of the disease, epidemiologic patterns, and the overall prognosis. The study identified that staphylococcus is nearly as prevalent as streptococcus in the onset of the disease (Ponticelli, 2008). The findings showed that the prognosis of the disease in adults is guarded as compared to that in children.

Topic Reflection

The most important concept learned is the research process. For results to be considered valid and reliable, a scientific procedure has to be followed to the later. The most difficult concept to grasp was the research design application. In addition, this is an area that will need to effort to ensure that the right design is applied for the appropriate study.
