Healthcare is an area that has greatly been affected by the modern technology. It has changed the entire structure and the organization of the whole field of medicine. There has been a widespread adoption of modern technology and this has advanced the biomedical engineering in human health. Through this, the lives of those with chronic diseases have been greatly increased. In this paper advances in the medical field are going to be discussed. This paper will look into medicine advancements as enunciated by Dan Childs and Susan Kansagra, their article 10 Health Advances That Changed the World and give a brief correlation between these advancements and the human race.

Development of cancer therapies. There has been a new approach to analyzing cancer codes which allows the doctors to understand how different chemotherapies will react to the mutated genes. In addition to that, there has been an advance in cancer immunotherapy which treats cancer by boosting the body immunity rather than removing of the mutated cells.
Development of gene therapy. This is the technology that treats bold cancers such as leukemia. Recently, it has also in shown that gene therapy can be used in reversing breast cancer. It has also shown that in future gene therapy could be used to eliminate surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy
Improvement of heart surgery and cardiac care. Heart disease has been the most killing disease and there has been a great improvement in the treatment. Surgeons are now able to operate and repair the heart without risking the patient.
