Some the factors inhibiting the global health issue management includes shortages of human resources, the rise of chronic diseases amongst population and the complexities and associated with technological, political and economic environment (Fuguero et al., 2018). Additionally, the World Health Organization also points to weak primary healthcare and fragile vulnerable health environments for both nurses and patients amongst the ten threats to global health (W.H.O, 2019).

Nurses are pivotal in addressing and improving global health needs in different aspects. For starters, in terms of nursing practice, nurses can contribute towards the improvement of global health through adhering to laid down health regulations and procedures (Edmonson et al., 2017). Another strategy is by adopting computerised system in medical procedures, such as Electronic Health Records (EHR) to improve on the timelines and quality of healthcare delivery. Additionally, in nursing education, nurses are required to conduct community sensitization on the prevention and management of infectious diseases like COVID 19 (Edmonson et al., 2017) Research is important to nurses; it helps in evidence-based practice and for ensuring reliability and credibility in service delivery amongst nurses.
