The main countries who participated in the war were Germany, Japan, Italy and France, United States, the Soviet Union, Great Britain, and China. 

The united states were forced into war when Japan bombed pearl harbor destroying its military base. 

The entry of United States into war helped its economy since the country had experienced a major economic depression and the war elevated the economy by creating millions of jobs for the American citizens. 

The end of the war was characterized by the surrender of Germany, and Japan in the year 1945. 

The United States emerged the winner and became recognized as a major superpower globally.

The document was written because there was the need for Americans to recognize the need for racial equality in the United States. “In Northern cities whites called for African Americans to be fired from any jobs as long as there were whites out of work. Racial violence again became more common, especially in the South Lynching, which had declined to eight in 1932, surged to 28 in 1933” 1

The document is essential as it highlights the significance of the world war II effects.

The world war II took place during the period the document was made.

The document could be useful in a research paper to build a theoretical foundation for a research study on the second world war.

This source is related to the book’s chapter about the world war II. 

 Both the book and the source are related in such a way that they both focus on the second world war and the changes that aroused as a result of the war.

I will use David E. Shi’s book America: A Narrative History to understand more about the topic.

The individual items drawn to the attention is the half-erected flag of the united states which the soldiers are busy trying to erect into the ground. 

What is this image attempting to convey to the viewer? 

The image reflected marine corps of the united states advancing up a slope to raise the flag signifying their victory of the war. 

What was happening at the time in history when this image was created? 

The world war II was taking place all over the world. 

How could you use this image in a research paper?  

The image is useful in the literature research when one wants to show review literature concerning what took place during world war II and the efforts the marine corps did to win during the war. 

Which chapter in your textbook does this source relate to, and how? 

The chapter related to this work is chapter 26, “The second world war 1933- 1945 (Shi 2019). 

 They are related since they are the focus in the second world war.

The historic indication that will help in understanding the event is the history narrative, America; a narrative history by David Emory Shi which talks about the world war two and its impact in the United States.
