Anaphylactic shock is a severe allergic reaction whereby the body becomes hypersensitive. The condition may be caused by allergens such as insect stings, certain foods such as milk or even latex among other triggers. In this case, the body reacts by releasing excess chemicals in the bloodstream, and this results in anaphylactic shock. It is characterized by symptoms such as feeling too warm, nausea, vomiting dizziness, vomiting among others. This allergy can contribute to conditions such as Kidney failure, heart attacks brain damage and even death in extreme situations (Gotter, 2018). This paper focuses on the state laws that concern anaphylactic treatment in children in the United States.

To curb the occurrence of such cases in school going children, the government has set apart rules that help children with such cases especially when they are in school. Below are some rules enacted in Wyoming State, Illinois. The school is supposed to ensure that the children who are known to have allergic reactions to certain food products are given a special diet. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the institution to ascertain that the meals served to the children are non-allergic. The teachers are also supposed to act immediately when a child shows any signs of anaphylaxis by initiating the Emergency Action Plan (EAP). The teacher should try to find the cause of the reaction to avoid any future cases of the reaction. The teachers are also required to ensure that the students with this allergies are accompanied at all times. The teachers should be trained on the means that are used to help the children.

The schools should also inspect sites that they intend to hold field trips to avoid allergens. The children with known allergens should either be left behind or kept under extreme care. The parents should be consulted about their consent about the trips before they happen to confirm any difficulties that the child may have. In the field trips, the school should carry physicians to accompany them in case they have to bring the children with allergies. The children are to be designated with the adults who take care of them at all times in the field trip. The school should also provide emergency medication for them in case of the attacks. The food offered on tour is appropriately packaged in contaminant-free containers as it should also be in the school. The students who have access to special diet should have special utensils that are not at the risk of having any allergens.
