The authors recommend that firms should use participative and democratic leadership styles in the implementation of change. The styles are based on the principle of leaders involving subordinates to participate in the organization’s decision-making and problem-solving processes. It is also an adequate way to motivate employees by making them feel that they are part of the organization, especially in terms of the managerial practices.

According to the authors, leadership is a vital element in the success of a firm. It is also important in the achievement of employee motivation. It is through the leadership that organizations are able to influence and inspire their employees to work together towards the achievement of common goals. The purpose of the article by Sareen and Agarwal (2016) is to give a detailed exploration of the role played by leadership in the achievement of employee retention in an organization. Organizations in today’s increasingly competitive world are striving to retain their employees, especially with their goals for the achievement of long-term growth and survival. As a result, they can gain the ability to retain some of their valued skills and competencies by inspiring employees with them to stay in the long-term. To achieve sustainable ability to grow and survive in this business landscape, organizations are adopting measures to attract and retain efficient people. Leadership is one of the main elements that plays a role in retaining some of the highly experienced and competent employees in organizations. Leaders should empower employees to enhance their skills and continue offering their services to the organization. 

The authors found that leaders apply different leadership patterns and styles in pursuit for the retention of the employees. Some of the tactics they use include both financial and non-financial rewards for the efforts they provide to the organizations. It is also common for organizations to practice leadership styles that will encourage employees to remain in their organizations in the long-term. In most instances, democratic leadership styles, as opposed to authoritative ones are important in inspiring the development of close relationships between employees and the leaders.

Today’s organizations are facing a major change in their effort to achieve adaptability in the increasingly dynamic global business environment. As a result, leaders have to come up with ways of making changes that will support their existence into the future. In most organizations, there are special change management teams for different departments whose role is to identify upcoming changes and develop corrective measures. 

The findings of this study indicated that leadership to achieve better adaptability is slightly different from leadership aimed at achieving change or transition. Adaptability leadership involves the effective application of an adaptive process that will provide space for ideas into the development of better leaders who are capable of implementing change into the organizational systems to help them adapt to upcoming changes. To achieve this form of leadership, leaders should recognize the important outcomes that come with such change. Becoming adaptive will enable organizations to achieve better competitive advantage because they will have a better ability to satisfy the changing market and consumer demands. Consequently, they will adapt in the long-term future even with the increasing and unforeseen changes in the market conditions. 

The article gives a unique approach into the topic of leadership in today’s organizations. It is true that change is increasingly leading to new demands for firms. Consequently, firms face the challenge of changing their processes to meet the arising demands. The authors provide a successful approach that can be applied in the modern organizational leaderships to cope with the change, while achieving better capability to achieve sustainable success and survival.

Preparing employees for such change might also require organizations to hire leaders who have the ability to inspire the employees so that they can adapt to change successfully. In most instances, organizations are employing change management and leadership that are geared towards handling any needed changes in the future.

The topic of adaptive leadership is important in the modern world because the existing business environment is faced with a wide variety of changes that are also impacting firms. The article also touches bases with the events facing most organization today while providing strategies that could be implemented to achieve sustainable success in organizations.
