Training management is a function of the leadership development model. It is composed of three domains; operational, institutional, and self-development, that help the leaders to understand leadership principals and their effective application. As such, successful training management in an organization ensures that trainees understand leadership principles and apply them effectively in the three domains. Thus the biggest challenge to training management is the main hindrance to the attainment of training management goals (definition). Therefore, tracking learners’ skills application is the biggest challenge of successful training management.
The tracking of the learners' skills application is the greatest challenge in training management. It is a great challenge because it threatens the learners not to meet the goals of the training (explanation). The objective of training management is to gain knowledge and be able to apply it in three domains. However, taking an example of the USA military, operations are characterized by a complex environment and dynamic and adaptive enemies. Thus it is hard to track whether the trainee is acquiring the necessary skills within the designed training program for application in operation (elaboration). To that effect, the USA army has developed an evaluation named Army regulation 600-8-101 that stipulates how trainees can be assessed for readiness before deployment. The assessment is a proof of efforts to bridge the difficulty of tracking learners’ skills (Example) (Army Doctrine Reference Publication No. 3-0, 2017 & Army Regulation 600– 8–101: Personnel Readiness Processing , 2018) .

In conclusion, tracking learners' skills application is the biggest challenge of successful training management. Tracking learners' skills is difficult because of the lark of an appropriate tool to determine effectively the knowledge acquired and level to which the learners can apply it. As such, the USA army tries to bridge the gap by devising a regulation that tests the readiness of trainees before deployment. The regulation is one of the tools that seek to overcome the difficulty.
