National Association of School Nurses was started in 1968, and it has achieved fifty years of supporting school nurses as well as student health. The organization is involved in different activities especially in preventing and creating advocacy in relation to asthma. There are NASN resources which are used in offering the checklist necessary for offering the best practices that should be used to take care of the students who are asthmatic in schools. The NASN organization also introduces the ABC of applying pulse oximeters in the schools. Therefore, on the political aspect, the organization has to work closely with the schools so that they can get the stated checklist. The management of NASN works with Waltham Public Schools which benefit from the pulse oximeters.

On the social perspective, National Association of School Nurses is associated with working with the communities in creating awareness on asthma and how it can be prevented. The nurse who is assigned to a certain school is required to work with the society members and the schools accredited and build a culture of health. It will help improve the students in those areas as well as the community health outcomes through the provision of leadership, critical thinking, care coordination, advocacy and addressing the barriers to health (Berger, 2008). The economic perspective of NASN is seen in their provision of resources to the services they provide to the community members. When creating advocacy on asthma, the organization is required to send trained nurses to the society and schools and ensure that they are funded for the entire process to take place. Training the preventive measures also requires economic support.

National Association of School Nurses takes different political positions, and they are all meant for the welfare of the organizations and society and making sure that the established goals are achieved. One of the political views is one the code of ethics which guide their duty in the field considering that there are no supervisors to check their operations. The code of ethics is divided into two, the organizational ethics and the school nurse ethics. The organizational ethics defines the ethical duties that NASN has to the society while the school nurse ethics defines statutory and the regulatory framework guiding the nurses on their daily duties. NASN is expected ensure that an ethical working environment has been provided for the students and the community, promoting a research agenda which will promote research, supporting the school nurses in their duties and forming relationships with other organizations which have the same mission and values such as NASN and in that way, they can work together to create advocacy and prevention of asthma.

If there were unethical actions taking place at NASN, it would affect the operations of the operations. The community and schools would also not be able to rely on the activities due to the unethical cases. The issues can also be solved using legal methods. The nurses and the organizations should be aware that acting unethically would result in a court case which has other implications. To the nurses, they may lose their working license, meaning that they would not be able to practice anymore (Selekman, 2013). The organization would lose its reputations, and the schools and the society would not depend on them. Therefore, the management should ensure that the ethical code political is held.
