Introduction

The film titled ‘’Astro Boy’’ is an animated comedy whose hero is braver, stronger and smarter than most of the adults living in his world. This film is based on the story of a father who loses his son named and is undergoing grief. This kind of emotional pain makes him design a robot that has an image like that of his son together with the memories left behind by the son. This animated movie greatly highlights the importance of values like self-sacrifice and friendship. Astro Boy is the name of the robot that the grieving father created. He is the main character of this story.

Zog, who is a robot, steps on a human because he has no empathy or any amount of sympathy in him. He is just a machine that has no human feelings. He views humans as valueless beings who did not deserve to be treated well. Astro Boy on the hand is not entirely a robot but saves the human stepped upon by Zog. He has some essence of humanity in him due to some features that he has that belonged to Toby, the young boy who died. He can feel and empathize with others around him. Astro Boy is willing to put his life at risk so that he can defend and save people in his planet against any potential danger or evil. Because he realizes this role as being his purpose, he continually makes good choices that mostly are made at his own expense.

The use of Animated Intelligence (AI) is becoming the norm in most of the developed countries in the world. I believe that humans need these technologically designed robots for more advancements to be achieved. Some innovations need the use of AI robots to carry out experiments that may be too risky for people to carry out. This way, they can play a key role in helping to reduce the use of excess effort in manual labor. According to me, the use of AI robots should be left to computing systems because of the ethical issue that they raise. Because AI robots have intellectual abilities, they can reason and act like human beings but so much better because they do not succumb into any prejudices of any kind and do not experience fatigue or negative feelings like hatred. They can also use language and have the ability to generate ideas that are original. Ethical issues like the making of moral decisions arise with the use of AI robots. When left to the computing system, the threat to human dignity is minimized.
