BA in Communications with Concentration in Healthcare

Education is the key to success. I have always wished to pursue a degree in communications with a major in healthcare. Communications in health entail marketing, carrying out advertising, public relations, and journalism (Publichealthcareer.org, 2020). With a degree in BA Communications with a major in health, one can work as a journalist, an editor, or even a communications director among other professionals. I would like to positively impact the population's health by developing and sharing information on different health aspects. 

I would want to connect my passion with my career. However, when I look at my socio-economic background, I am reminded that my family's financial status might be a barrier for me to achieve my dreams. Going through high school was not easy for me because of financial challenges, but luckily enough, I managed to graduate. Despite the financial challenges, I have always been an excellent student with an excellent academic record throughout high school. 

I believe that I deserve to be selected for this scholarship. I am a hardworking individual, and I will take full advantage of the opportunity if awarded. I have always known that my interests are in communication and healthcare, and this scholarship will help me realize my career dream. There is a need for professionals who can analyze public policies related to health through frequent awareness of changes in policy and patterns to promote the population's health (Publichealthcareer.org, 2020). I hope to impact populations positively, and the scholarship will make the difference in terms of affording the studies that I require to achieve my goal. If awarded the opportunity, I will prove that I not only possess what it takes to be an excellent and successful student but a successful and outstanding professional also.
