Demographic changes continue to influence the evolution and demands of America’s health care delivery system. This transformation has also changed the cultural landscape of the health care system in the United States. Immigration is still on the rise in the nation. Projections show that in the coming few years one-third of America’s population will comprise the collective majority (Niles, 2014). Such changes are bound to impact the delivery of service in the health care system. Socio-economic factors such as health insurance status, education, and economic status of the population have also contributed to decisions made by health care practitioners in delivering quality care to its consumers. The demographic shifts and cultural values are also seen to influence the evolution of health care delivery in terms of the accessibility of the service.

The demographic changes and cultural values have influenced the evolution of the system as is evident in the consumers’ health, life span, disease risks, and their access to quality care. Immigrants (racial and ethnic minorities) in the United States are known to be affected greatly by health disparity issues. As such, they need to be highlighted so as to reduce the health issues of such populations significantly. Such populations are seen to be affected by certain diseases like cancer due to their lack of insurance to cover the diagnosis of the disease. Health care services in the United States are known to be extremely high especially for those individuals without medical covers (Niles, 2014). As such, in order for the health care system in the United States to be productive, they need to constantly keep up with the changing demographics. The needs of patients are also changing and this need to be addressed further by the health care system
