Gigantopithecus was an extinct genus of ape that is thought to have been existed about nine million years ago. The primates were at the time the largest known primates that ever lived. Bigfoot, on the other hand, is a giant ape that roams in the Pacific Northwest. Bigfoot is assumed to exist after several individuals claim to see the creature across North America. Bigfoot has been described to be a giant, hairy and muscular primate. It is a bipedal ape. It is also claimed that the creature has enormous footprints hence the name Bigfoot. By far the most relied information that people have are based on eyewitness reports.
Some people urge that Giagantopithecus exists today in the form of Bigfoot. It might not necessarily be true but it is believed the Bigfoot has its origin from the Gigantopithecus relict population. Just like Bigfoot, Gigantopithecus could have been bipedal based on its shape, it also was hairy, huge and with enormous feet. Some hunters in their hunting quest have concluded that Gigantopithecus is alive and well hiding out in the forests but possibly, they see Bigfoot, which draws the same physical appearance like the Gigantopithecus. However, other researchers urge that the Gigantopithecus huge capacity will make it difficult for it to survive as a bipedal primate. Bigfoot is a bipedal primate with physical evidence ascertaining to that fact. Gigantopithecus was not a home and it is not a crown group hominoid (Wayman, 2012).

This should be critically evaluated by use of fossil identification and comparing the bone structure of both animals. Though fossils of Gigantopithecus exist, archaeologists are yet to find Bigfoot fossils and bones to do the comparison. Due to their extinct nature and gigantic appearance, Gigantopitheucus should not be imagined to have existed in recent times. Bigfoot has been eyewitnesses by a couple of people who all have the similar description of the animal. That concludes that Bigfoot is not a hoax.
