The human resource manager (HR) is arguably one of the most important executives in an organization. They have two fundamental roles that include overseeing the functions of the department and managing the employees. It is in this regard that HR managers must show competency in the relevant disciplines that include training and development, compensation and benefits, recruitment, selection, and employee relations (Noe et al., 2017). However, an HR manager must encounter a host of challenges mainly from the personal management of the company's taskforce. From the interview with the client, several problems that HR faces can be deciphered.

The first problem that the client in the interview addresses regards to the management of people. According to her, some employees see her as a source of attack rather than help. Dealing with the emotional and physical stability of the employees can be a significant problem. Incentives are not enough in today's evolving job market. It is upon the manager to understand the requirements, attitudes, and the feelings of their workforce (Noe et al., 2017). Other than the emotional and physical stability of the employees, the client says that improvements need to be made in the area of recruitment and selection. With the difficulty in finding the right employee for the job, the HR manager can be forced to make significant compromises, a factor that can affect the organization.

Balancing the interest of the management and employees can be a critical problem. On the one hand, the organization has its goals, and on the other hand, the employees have interests that are most important for their life. With many employees now well-conversant with trade unions, the company can easily fall into legal pitfalls if it lags in solving the needs of the employee. Also, the company's performance must always show a positive trend. As such, balancing the two necessities can be a significant problem.
