Reducing global poverty has been one of the main aims of non-governmental organizations as well as governments across the world. Continued studies have indicated that the path to global poverty reduction is now well-trodden with immense steps having been made in reducing poverty. There is nearly ten percent of the world population that is living in on less than two dollars per day. I would opine that reducing global poverty is an achievable goal noting that as indicated earlier, there are significant steps that have been made towards reducing global poverty.

Using the Oxfam model is a possible approach to the reduction of global poverty. According to the model, responding to humanitarian crises is one of the principal approaches to reducing global poverty. Communities hit by such crises lose not only their homes but also sources of livelihoods. As such, making a response to humanitarian crises is a step towards global poverty eradication. Further, ensuring that there is empowerment for the people in such a way that they can hold the people in power accountable for resources use makes it possible to move closer to global poverty eradication. Moreover working towards gender justice can prove a critical approach in global poverty eradication, noting that females make up the largest poverty-stricken population globally. Also working for the efficiency of food systems will not only increase food supply but also provide income for the agriculture-dependent population that is often hit by poverty.

The graphs presented by the World Economic Forum do not come as a surprise, especially the fact that a majority of countries do not hold the view of countries being obliged to help one another. Often, there have been countries that have provided assistance in loans to less developed countries in efforts to eradicate poverty only to end up taking over strategic resources to recover for the loans extended. Also, international cooperation is indeed beneficial to countries in addition to countries reaping benefits from migration and globalization. Additionally, the potential of robots taking over the positions that have been held by human labor is more likely to happen in the developed countries in comparison to the developing world.
