I would be interested in pursuing a career in sociology owing to the various benefits associated with it. Learners of the sociology discipline have the advantage of being taught and trained about efficient and effective ways of using empirical data with the objective of understanding the realities associated with present social aspects. Moreover, learners in the field of sociology acquire the ability to appropriately use various techniques in empirical research in conducting studies that are significant to the development of the society. Students pursuing careers in sociology have the benefit of getting exposed to the use of statistical approaches and techniques which empower them accordingly to analyze and solve complex problems surrounding social phenomena. Pursuing a career in the field of sociology also ensures that the learners acquire the vital skills and exposure to qualitative tools of analysis and evaluation such as data and information management, focus group management as well as conducting research-based interview on various subjects affecting the society (Larson, 2018).

In that respect, sociology plays a considerable role in equipping learners to incorporate features of social science in their thinking as well as perspective on different aspects of life. Such features of social science enable individuals in the field of sociology to become more attentive and keen on facts, explanations and critical arguments with the aim of achieving credible conclusions and reliable solutions. Another reason for my interest in sociology is the value attached to it in the marketplace. In this regard, a degree or a qualification in sociology could lead a graduate into careers such as administration, education, research, marketing, human resource and counseling among others. Additionally, a qualification in the field of sociology can pave way for entry into different other career paths thus creating an essential flexibility in the present economy where people have a tendency of changing jobs and careers (Ressler, 2018).

Contents of subjects studied in the field of psychology are particularly vital for the evaluation and analysis of the dynamic social world that is experienced presently. Sociology has a promising future with regard to the provision of reliable data and relevant theories that are capable of assisting the society to have a better understanding of human beings and the social realities they often confront. Furthermore, the sociology discipline is framed around crucial social aspects that largely influence the process of policy formulation towards the realization of social progress. Social aspects such as poverty, race, inequalities, class, power, immigration, urbanization and globalization are better understood and positively influence by people who have pursued a career in the field of sociology alongside of the disciplines (Callahan and Stephens, 2016).

A significant part that concerns the value associated with pursuing studies in sociology discipline is the ability to equip and empower learners with a broader and clearer grasp of the dynamics experienced in social processes. To that extent, sociology presents learners with a crucial basis for a better understanding and effective engagement on local and global issues effective human beings and their environments. In pursuing a career in the discipline of sociology, I would be better placed to acquire and utilize various intellectual tools in evaluating different social conflicts and problems with a view of contributing towards finding reliable solutions (Larson, 2018).

The labor market in the twenty-first century has been changing at a considerably high rate owing to increase in technology development as well as globalization. Thus, people who study sociology and related subjects are presented with a wide range of possible career opportunities for exploration. People in the sociology discipline have been in a position to take part in multiple career opportunities owing to the crucial skills they have managed to acquire. Such skills include research, analytic-problem solving, critical thinking, innovation, creativity, broad understanding of social issue, effective communication as well as persuasive and expressive writing techniques among others (Ressler, 2018).

Over the last couple of years, people studying sociology have found themselves ending up in careers that are uniquely created with the intention of developing the society for the present and future generations. Career advancement, especially in the field of sociology, has become an increasingly diverse and dynamic concept in the present society. This is an implication that most careers that continue to be available to people holding qualifications from different areas of sociology require the ability to work effectively and cooperatively in addressing social issues from diverse ethnicities, cultures, and nationalities (Callahan and Stephens, 2016).

Professionals and experts in the field of sociology have been mainly preoccupied with studying the society as well as examining the social behaviors of different cultures, groups, social institutions and organizations as well as processes involved in the development interactions among humans. The global career outlook with regard to projection of employment of sociologists indicates almost no changes are likely to take place till the year 2026.
