Collaborative and open communication prove to be vital in ensuring a continuous improvement process at Google. Agarwal & Garg (2012) go out of their way to explain how effective communication results in a successful organization. For one, every organization should provide that communication strategies are collaborative rather than competitive (Agarwal & Garg, 2012). Collaborative communication helps to ensure that stakeholders in the company act as a team and use communication to foster integration (Nikoi, 2013). Open communication involves allowing the executive and junior employees to integrate well and communicate about factors affecting the organization (Agarwal & Garg, 2012). With regards to open communication, Agarwal & Garg (2012) hold that there have to be a preferred means of communication, and in most cases, direct email and phone, as well as face to face communication, are the pertinent means.

The chosen organization, in this case, is Google. A collaborative form of communication would prove to be effective when ensuring that the goals of the production team are in line with those of the sales department. Also, the quality of services produced would be more harmonious throughout the organization with a collaborative communication. Providing open communication at Google would help to enhance the value chain which would feel minded by the company’s management. Success, in this case, would ensure that the improvement of processes, service, and products produced in the organization as prescribed in the continuous improvement model. The challenge at Google comes in whereby encouraging innovation; the organization tends to encourage competition which may be risky in a way. To solve this, the management, as well as employees, should be trained on how to build each other’s innovation without creating unhealthy competition. In conclusion, the open and collaborative forms of communication can be integrated gradually through systematic training and implementation to yield the desired outcome.
