"Casey Anthony Not Guilty in Slaying of Daughter" is an article by Lizette Alvarez that details a homicide, investigation, trial, and verdict of a murder case. The case involves the young mother, Casey Anthony, who was alleged of killing her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie.

After many days of investigation, Casey Anthony, the skeletal remains of her daughter, was retrieved around her house. All along with the investigation, Casey Anthony was lying concerning her daughter's whereabouts (Alvarez, 2011). During the investigation, many witnesses, including an officer from the homicide department, detected a smell of something that has decomposed in Casey's car. Later, professionals from Tennessee University performed tests of the air in the trunk to reveal that there was a decomposing body in the car. Notably, the ruling of the judge permitted these witnesses to testify concerning the information before the jury.

Consequently, this case is of great interest because the incidental nature of the case provided by the prosecution side appeared to be insurmountable. No direct evidence was there to tie Casey Anthony to her daughter's death. Although the prosecutors claimed that Casey stashed her daughter in his car before disposing of her body, the investigators did not found any suggestions of Casey's DNA or indisputable signs of decomposition inside Casey Anthony's car (Alvarez, 2011). The case also was of interest to me because the prosecution side was not able to tell the court precisely when and how Caylee died. At the point of retrieval, the body of Caylee was decomposed to pinpoint the cause of her death. The investigators employed forensic skills during the investigation of this case. However, the forensic evidence was vague, and no witness was able to connect the evidence to Caylee's death.

To conclude, Casey Anthony was found not guilty of killing her daughter. I concur with the verdict because the prosecution side and investigators failed to provide watertight evidence to tie Casey Anthony to the death of his daughter. I would not have done anything more with the investigation because Caylee's body was retrieved late.
