Cerebrovascular diseases are a chain of conditions that affect the supply of blood to the brain, causing limited or no blood flow to body parts. Cerebrovascular accident is also known as a medical term for a stroke. There are various types of cerebrovascular diseases such as stroke. Transient ischaemia, subarachnoid hemorrhage and vascular anemia. Stroke is a medical condition where a part of the brain is damaged due to insufficient or lack of supply to the brain or bleeding in the brain due to ruptured brain blood vessels. Transient ischemic attack (TIA) is a temporary fall in the blood supply to one part of the brain, and its symptoms are very much similar to a stroke. Subarachnoid hemorrhage is a type of stroke in which blood leaks from the blood vessels of the brain onto the surface of the brain. Vascular dementia which is an impairment to the brain that is persistent or chronic due to conditions such as stroke or insufficient supply of blood to the brain cells. Irregularities in the ordinary functioning of the brain are very severe as most of the operations and functioning of the body are controlled by the brain. The cerebrovascular accident has been a major disease killer in the 21st century. Victims of the cerebrovascular accident show particular and identifiable symptoms that characterize the side-effects. Some of the symptoms of cerebrovascular accident in humans include: difficulty ion walking. Difficulty in speaking or understanding what one is saying, numbness in different parts of the body, blurred sight vision and chronic headaches. Various forms of stroke affect individuals according to the impaired in the brain. Various tests are carried to identify the cause of this disease. Some of the tests include blood tests, angiogram, carotid ultrasound, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging (Fang, 2014).

This paper majorly targets the black race residing in the US specifically black American males of age 35-50 years. The condition is found to be prone to their genetic formation. Black men have twice the prevalence of stroke as whites (4% versus 2.3%). Health promotion against the cerebrovascular accident among the old Black Americans is very much important to the society because it increases the lifespan of those that already affected. Health promotions stir in a lot of hope to affected patients and enable them to fight till their last breath. Health promotions are imperative as it will create awareness among the elderly black Americans as more of them shall be sensitized to the importance of Care and support in this case and also for those that have never been tested shall have the courage to undertake those tests to identify their health statuses.

The whole promotion project related to the healthy people 2020 topic area of heart disease and strokes. According to (Greer, 2010), the cerebrovascular accident has claimed a lot of the elderly black men in the US which is also a major setback in the healthy 2020. The health promotion project tends to ensure that the rising number are controlled and monitored check up on the victims. Just as the objectives set up by healthy people 2020 which are increasing the proportion of adults who have had their blood pressure in the preceding two years carefully monitored, implement change in lifestyle for those elderly adults diagnosed with elevated LDL cholesterol levels in the body so as to ensure they keep up in good shape. The health promotion project works in conjunction with the objectives of healthy people 2020 to curb the spread of cerebrovascular diseases among elderly Black males.

Cerebrovascular accident among the elderly black men has been triggered due to some factors.Below are some of the factors

High Blood Pressure

This condition is caused by uncontrollable levels of blood sugar levels. The African-Americans are majorly affected by high blood pressure. The control measures undertaken to curb high blood pressure has been weak in the black Americans and hence the levels have significantly developed over the years and growing into many dangerous conditions such as stomatal

Obesity

A nearly 63 percent of the African-American men are obese or significantly overweight and even a more shocking 77% of African American women are obese (Mensor, 2014). Obesity which is a medical condition in which excess body fats have accumulated. This situation leads to blockage of blood vessels due to excess fats, and gradually it develops to stroke cutting supply to the brain and eventually leading to death.

Substance Abuse

Tobacco is a common stimulant among the black Americans, and it is a contributing factor to the development of stroke. Sickle - cell Anemia

A medical situation where blood cells are abnormally shaped which is usually C-shaped. These unusually deformed cells can easily block the blood vessels to the brain and hence prevent sufficient blood supply to the brain leading to stroke very much quickly.

Most of the strokes in the USA are classified as an ischemic stroke. An ischemic stroke occurs when a clot of blood blocks the flow of blood supply to a part of the brain. One may wonder why it that African Americans are majorly subjected of is affected by this dreadful disease. There are principal causes that have led to this abnormal spread of cerebrovascular accident among the black Americans.

Family History

Some of the diseases that are acquired are based on the medical status of our ancestral lineage. Most diseases are genetically acquired as they are passed on through the bloodline. Relating to the information gathered about the major causes of the cerebrovascular accident among the black American senior men, the health promotion project shall endeavor to make sure that the blood pressure of the top people in the dark states such as Ohio is tested regularly and carefully, Monty. The project shall also encompass the construction of fitness centers to ensure that obese victims are put into great shape to make sure that their lifespan is increased and are in great shape to reduce the chances of death. Several rehabilitation centers shall also be constructed to counsel the victims of the condition that is chronic substance users. The centers shall ensure to create awareness to all the elderly Black men on the risks caused by consumption of these harmful drugs.

In that most of the blacks reside in the ghettos, community centers will be the best way to approach the majority of the black people and create awareness about the terrible cerebrovascular accident. 

The cerebrovascular accident is taking away most of the lives of the elderly black men, and suitable health projects should be set up to ensure that the menace I dealt with to ensure the longevity of life for the blacks.
