The proposed change plan seeks to introduce a patient-centered system to improve care for cancer patients. A patient-centered system is a tool that would effectively improve the satisfaction of patients and subsequently increase the quality of care offered to patients. This system works by taking into consideration the personal desires and health goals of a patient (Jayadevappa & Chhatre, 2011). Within a patient-centered healthcare system, doctors specifically seek to know what patients wish for their health. Healthcare practitioners are entitled to lead patients through a comprehensive explanation of the available care options and their respective side effects. Subsequently, they can connect such information to patients’ own desires and health goals to ensure that they deliver the most desired care and in accordance with their demands (Wolf et al., 2008). This would improve the patients’ level of satisfaction.

This proposal does not need many resources to implement apart from a team of healthcare workers who believe in the process and a policy that insists on patient focus. Additionally, the hospital facility would need to establish a communication system to gather information from patients on their personal needs and preferences prior to their visit to the facility (Greene et al., 2012). Evaluation of a patient-centered system entirely depends on the feedback given by patients. The healthcare facility can use the same communication system to seek feedback from patients and recommendations on what they prefer to be improved to increase the quality of care.

The recommended communication system would also come in handy in ensuring the completion of the dissemination of this plan. The hospital facility, through its communication officer, can reach clients and inform them of the proposed changes. Moreover, the communication department can use social media communication tools to inform the community on their planned proposals, giving a detailed explanation of what the patient-centered system would be like. This proposed system would definitely improve the satisfaction level of cancer patients and thus improve the overall quality of care.
