Basic Issues and Main Themes

The video is very significant in the area it addresses. Prostitution has been identified as a problem that is facing a significant quarter of American society. This has led to the establishment of child sex trafficking channels that can be traced to various locations, controlled by individuals from the same community (Smith, 2015). People are paying for sex, an issue that is wrong according to social ethics. One of the primary issues addressed comprises the need to identify and stop the main perpetrators of child sex trafficking. This has been widely addressed as one of the most effective ways of ensuring that the vice of child sex trafficking is combatted. The central theme of this video is rooted in cases of child sex trafficking. This is a problem that has continued to face many states in America. Oregon has been recognized as one of the leading states in cases of child sex trafficking.

Perspectives of the Issues Addressed

The issues addressed in the video are from an unbiased view. Agreement among Presenters Regarding Issues Addressed

According to the video, there was an agreement between the presenters concerning the main issues addressed. This is evident in the manner the conversation is carried on, and in some instances, the audience would clap in a show of agreement and acknowledgment about the raised issues. It can be noted that the consensus among the presenters was influenced by the fact that the video was very resourceful regarding the central theme. From identifying perpetrators and victims, measures initiated by various states, and how individuals can help combat the problem are some of the critical objectives that led to the agreement.

Major Moral Issues Related to these Topics

Various moral issues surround the issue if child sex trafficking in the video. Firstly, the ethical issue of casual intimacy is evident in the video. Children are forced to engage in casual intimacy without their own consent. Because sex should be between two adults with consent, many of the trafficked children are subjected to casual intimacy. Teen sex is also a moral issue in the video. Children under the stipulated age of sex are forced to have sex with older adults. This is against the federal and states laws and goes against the ethical requirements regarding sex.

The Concept of Ethical Relativism

According to the concept of ethical relativism, morality is comparative to the norms of a specific culture (Hayry, 2005). Whether a particular action is correct or wrong, it is subject to the moral customs of society in which it is practiced. This is an implication that the final decision concerning the morality of an issue lies in the respective community. An action can be wrong in one society and be upheld in another society. Regarding the topic in the video, the concept of ethical relativism is evident. This is because the act of child sex trafficking despite being against moral paradigms, it is still celebrated by a certain quarter of society.
