Discussion One

Chapter 15 of Just Business provides much guidance on property issues. To Dave's family, the chapter advises and guides the family to use their property positively. According to the chapter, personal properties can either be used positively or negatively (Hill, 2018). Individual properties can be used positively to help others as it provides generosity with a means of expression. On the other hand, if personal property is used negatively, it threatens human relationships.

If I were in Well's family situation, I would do what Bonnies suggested. Bonnie suggested that the family should build a modest cabin. Bonnie's idea is outstanding since we cannot stop the family's necessities because some people do not enjoy that pleasure. As Bonnie suggested, creating a modest cabin will make the family enjoy together with both children enjoying watersport. If Dave does not buy the idea of building a cabin, the family happiness will be compromised. Typically, ethics can have endless mental wandering and irritating circular thinking levels (Pheifer, 2019). Erecting a modest cabin would create employment for a needy person, thus enhancing society's welfare.

From my past experiences with property, the conclusion I can draw is that property can help provide accommodation options and anticipated income if utilized judiciously. Typically, a property rightfully located can enable one to generate monetary returns if sold or rented. Also, a property can provide additional accommodation during social occasions. After reading the topic of property in the text, I have learned that a property should be located in the right place and be used to help other people in need. In applying what I have learned, I will encourage most people to use their property wisely, generate income, and help the people in need.

Discussion Two

After conducting a self-assessment on conflict styles inventory, the results were as follow:-

A: _3_ B: _3_ C: _1_ D: _1_

A B C D

From the given scenarios, I manage to choose six responses right. The six-times I managed to select the correct answer portrays that I can do an outstanding task flexing my conflict management styles depending on the situation's demand. The score reveals that I am in a position to resolve issues while maintaining good relationships comfortably. Avoidance and accommodation are my best conflict management style.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Conflict Management Styles

The accommodation conflict management style's advantage is that it allows small disagreements to be handled more quickly. The accommodation style is disadvantageous since it portrays managers as weak ( McKibben, 2017 ). Avoidance is advantageous in that it gives people enough time to cool down when solving issues. Avoidance style can be disadvantageous since it can make the conflict worse if employed in bad situations.

A compromise conflict management style is advantageous since issues are resolved more quickly. The main disadvantage of this style is the fact that no one feels happy after the conflict. Competition style is beneficial since it makes managers strong and clued to their principles. This style is disadvantageous since it makes managers authoritarian and unreasonable ( Tabassi et al., 2017 ). Collaboration conflict management style is advantageous in that it leaves everyone happy after the conflict. The main disadvantage of compromise conflict management styles is that it consumes a lot of time, thus delaying solutions.
