Identify how you plan to prioritize care as a nurse 

As a nurse, I must ensure that I first have a prioritization plan before administering any health care. As part of the prioritization process, I should ensure that I conduct an assessment and analysis of patients’ medical report. The assessment of medical reports will display if patients’ have any allergies and special conditions. I should also ask patients questions based on their medical condition and health. Prioritization also requires nurses to conduct certain procedures and tests on the patients. These tests may comprise of blood pressure, heart and breathing rate. At times, patients are also asked for a urine sample before seeing their doctors or health practitioners. 

What factors do you think will influence the prioritization of care? 

Factors such as time management, the structure of the organization and nurses’ working environment are bound to influence prioritization of care (Moore et al., 2015). In most cases, nurses need to plan on their prioritization and their plan can be influenced in many ways, by the above factors.

Describe common pitfalls associated with prioritizing care 

Inadequate nursing staff and lack of healthcare facilities are among pitfalls that face prioritization of care. These pitfalls may end up limiting nurses on their time plan, which may end up affecting their priorities.

In the healthcare sector, patients can be considered as clients. Nurses end up collaborating with clients through their interaction, where they ensure that well-being and good health is enhanced. Clients may comprise of individuals, family and the community. Through collaboration, communication and socializing, nurses can end up acquiring nursing skills and abilities from their peers (Semper et al., 2016). Sadly, healthcare professionals can also collaborate with nurses to ensure effective delivery of healthcare and safety to patients. Professional nursing organizations also play a significant role since they collaborate with nurses, to ensure that healthcare facilities and equipment are available to patients. Additionally, nurses also function as collaborators with legislators because they promote a safe working environment for every staff, with the help of their policies and practices
