Leadership and management in healthcare determine the success of any activities. As the executive director, I have to motivate the board members for successful fundraising. I will start by organizing strategic meetings to explain to the board members on the current money needs on funding the Smith Family Foundation and convince them to take part in the activity. I will establish the mission, vision, and objectives of the fundraising activity (Burke & Friedman, 2010). It will guide the board members on what will be expected to be achieved. The goals have to be measurable and timely to inspire the board members. During the fund-raising, I will make sure that the project will stay mission-oriented. I will define roles clearly, ensuring that each individual will be aware of their duties during the fund-raising. The board members will be informed continuously about the fundraising process, the amount of money collected, and allocation. Effective communication throughout the process will keep the board members motivated.
I will require supporting material when presenting my case of the fundraising to the potential donors. The case statement will be the initial step. The case statement will be explaining to the potential donors the importance of educating mothers about the importance of childhood vaccination. There are various supporting materials to be included to make the case statement effective. It will help in explaining the pressing need for vaccines among children and the lack of education among mothers on different types of vaccines and their importance (Burke & Friedman, 2010). I will use visual aids during the presentation to show the difference between children who have been vaccinated and those without. The use of an infographic will assist to simplify the facts and statistics on vaccinations and lack of education as the hindrance to why mothers do not immunize their children. The mission and story of the fundraising project can be described using visuals.
