As a nursing team, we value interdependence and professionalism as a key to collaboration. As a member, I have learned to build personal relationships with my team players as the foundation for meeting the shared goals of my team. I believe that established relationships where trust and honesty reigns open up new channels of communication, a key recipe for the high-functioning team. Effective team members always strive to create a positive environment and an empowering atmosphere by playing part in the contribution of innovative solutions to problems or challenging assignments that emerge in the course of team operations (Weiss et al., 2014). For example, in the recognition of the importance of relating information to patients, I am a team player in the provision of IV access, pass medications, wound care, and collaborative education, especially when teaching newly diagnosed patients with diabetes as it is an area I have a lot of interest.
As a leader, steward, and member of a nursing team, collaboration with multiple disciplines within healthcare and leading by example in showing expertise, respect, and compassion in such interactions is essential (Mitchell et al., 2012) . As a nurse, I listen actively to my team members and help in ensuring organizational goals, such as bettering standards of practice and accreditation are met. Collaboration among team members yield better models of patient-centered health care delivery systems (Fouche, 2011). As a steward of healthcare, I coordinate care by ensuring resources required by my team are available and utilized properly and participate in finding innovative solutions to improve efficiency. As a result, I am a role model, mentor, and coach because my actions are reciprocated by my peers, leading to a strong team of nurses that collaborate with each other to provide the best evidence-based care practices to our patients. Therefore, as a steward of healthcare, I hold my organizations in trust of its stakeholders and for society at large.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
In line with the culture, mission, and strategy of our organization, my team and I, understand, support and share a set of values that enable us to discharge our individual responsibilities and empower each other while appreciating our interdependence. I work meticulously to ensure an environment where collaboration and consensus are treasured values. This culture of valuing and focusing on serving the interests of others is critical in the accomplishment of my organization’s mission and goals of delivering a cost-effective and quality patient-centered care (Van Lee et al., 2005). I believe in so serving, I provide stewardship and social responsibility and I commit to ensuring the improvement and sustainability of my organizational performance.
