I observed that the majority of people who live in the community stay in middle-income neighborhoods. As a result, I was able to learn that a significant number of people in the community live above the poverty line. However, my observation of residential areas in the community revealed that the majority of low-income earners in the community are people from minority racial groups, especially black (Data USA, 2018). The community does not have many health facilities as I expected. St. Francis Health Services is the main hospital in the community, even though there are other small-scale healthcare service providers (“Economic Development,” n.d). Also, the community has many fitness and recreational centers, which is an indication of favorable health behavior. In addition, the community has invested a lot of resources in its education sector, as it has many institutions of higher learning, including high school and elementary school. Therefore, health literacy is high in the community as a substantial number of people have basic education and knowledge.

The community needs to build more hospitals or health facilities, especially due to the increasing population growth rate. St. Francis Health Services is the main health facility in the community, and it serves both inpatient and outpatient patients (Personal communication, July 6, 2019). The limited number of health facilities may adversely affect the quality of healthcare services. Besides, the number of people who are suffering from obesity and overweight is increasing. As a result, the community needs to build appropriate fitness centers to encourage physical exercise. The high level of literacy in the community should be used to promote healthy behaviors.
Environmental Analysis
Environment factors have a significant influence of the population health of any community. Accessibility to health care facilities is one of the major physical environmental factors that affect population health in the community. The community has a few health facilities, making it challenging to access hospitals and health care providers in the community (Data USA, 2018). Nonetheless, the community has an effective transport network system that facilitates patients’ movement as they seek health services. Even though the community does not suffer from major environmental degradation, the community has a large and growing manufacturing industry that pollutes water and air, resulting in a number of diseases.
Education is one of the major social determinants that affect community health in Jordan. The effective education system in the community has increased health literacy, leading to favorable health behaviors (“Economic Development,” n.d). However, the racial and gender disparity in the community can negatively affect the health and wellbeing of some sections of the population, especially women and people from minority racial groups in Jordan. Besides, the developing culture of physical exercise may help in reducing health problems like obesity and diabetes in the community.

Jordan community residents are likely to enjoy good health due to the high number of people with middle and high-income earners. At the same time, the community has a favorable physical environment such as the transport system that enhances the movement of patients and people within the community. Nevertheless, the community needs to build additional hospitals and health facilities to improve the accessibility of medical services. At the same time, the community should reduce the high level of inequalities, especially in terms of gender and race.
