There is a variety of community resources in North Dakota meant to promote health standards among the elderly population. Ageing life care management services connect the elderly people with healthcare advisors such to allow for continued life care. The advisors maintain a constant interaction with the elderly to monitor their health status to allow for timely identification of illness and application of the suitable interventions. The advisors are also used to identify cases of abuse extended to the elderly in some instances. Abuses cases of the elderly are common in cases where old people are neglected by family members such that they end up living on their own (Center for Rural (n.d). The advisors have a role in advising the elderly and their relatives in suitable ways they can involve healthy living to minimize the chances of falling ill.

Remote caregiving services are available where caregivers connect with old people using a variety of technological platforms that are highly secured. The remote interaction of caregivers with the elderly population eliminates the need for physical attendance to healthcare facilities and high confidentiality levels maintained when sharing medical information. The use of technology is a solution to the problems of public transport that have been an issue in North Dakota. The use of technology offers a speedy way of connecting to caregivers to ensure timely interventions owing to the delicate nature of old people in matters with their health status.

Volunteer companions are available in North Dakota, where they are used to offer social services and help to the elderly people. The services are mostly designed to help the aged with the household chores considering that most of them are weak and unable to accomplish some of the basic chores on their own. Young people, from various groups, offer volunteer services targeting elderly people during their charity work activities and programs. Institutions of learning organize charity activities from time to time including volunteer services aimed at helping the elderly people at their homes.

Some healthcare facilities offer mobile screening services targeting old people who cannot make it to the hospitals or those having mobility problems. The screening services are made available in the rural areas such that old people who cannot make it to the urban areas, where most of the medical facilities are located, can access the services near their homes ( Scott et al., 2016) . Most of the screening services are offered for free with the aim of reaching a large number of old people who would otherwise be reduced should the screening services offered at a fee. It is through screening that persons diagnosed with medically-important conditions are referred for specialized services to have their conditions either treated or managed.

The elderly are also guided on the importance of medical insurance and the associated medical benefits. The guidance is important, considering that a large number of old people suffer from chronic illnesses that are expensive to treat and manage. LPNs are actively involved in advising community members on the importance of using the available community resources meant to improve the health standards of the old people. The nurses advise members of the community about the programs and services that are offered from time to time such to ensure that they make use of them to improve the health status and safety of the elderly people.
