Compare and Contrasting U.S and State Constitution

The Constitution of the United States starts with the simple saying “We the people”. The words are simple but the belief it stands for has molded the whole country (O’Connor et al., 2011). He further states that the government of the United States is established upon the individuals themselves. The constitution mirrors the ideologies and cultures of its people. The constitution of the State reflects the citizens in a more precise vicinity. Key difference between the two are as a result of the distinctions between the characteristics and scope of the persons they rule. 

Comparisons 

The Constitution of the United States outlines the structure of its national government. It also dictates the limitation and scope of the powers of the national government. The State Constitution in found in each State. It resembles the federal Constitution because it outlines the three structures of the government; the legislature, judiciary and the executive. The two Constitutions both seek and system of balances and checks and separation of powers between the three arms of government. Both Constitutions present the basic rights of the people. The State Constitution and the US Constitution both stand for representative democracy, limited government, power separation and popular sovereignty.

Contrasts 

According to News and Events (2013) article, constitutions of the States are much detailed and longer compared to the federal Constitution. The constitution presents a framework that is general and includes the specifics where necessary. The State Constitutions however enshrine numerous detailed laws that one might anticipate to discover in a statute. The Constitution of the State centers on limiting power rather than allowing it. This is because its general authority has already been well-known. The constitution of the State can be easily amended while the U.S Constitution can only be amended through a length process. The long process is designed to minimize the changes done to the document. State Constitution takes priority over statutes of the State and other facets of a State law outline. In relation to State religion, a State Constitution. The State Constitution is subordinate to the US Constitution. 

The two maybe different but they have been out in place by the people, for the people and for the benefit of the people. This is to ensure that the citizens of the United States are well taken care of.
