In my current organization, One Healthy Life, the application of evidence-based is valued extensively. Primarily, the organization has a research and development center that helps in providing knowledge and possible ways to manage patients as well as hospital-acquired infections (HACs). Through the policies and programs of One Healthy Life, it is evident that laws dictate that the medical practitioners in this organization are supposed to use evidence-based knowledge and practices in managing patients. The ‘Stay Healthy' program in the organizationis directed at increasing the hygiene within the patient rooms and educating the nurses and other medical practitioners on attending to the patient to reduce HACs.

Policies for the organization that hinder the implementation of evidence-based practice (EBP) include the limited number of nurses being hired due to the organization’s financial strength and heavy workloads ( (Polit, Beck and Polit, 2017) ). The fact that One Healthy Life does not have enough funds to increase the number of its staff reveals that the small number of professionals hired have to handle heavy workloads. In this way, the organization does not focus on quality delivery of services because the medical practitioners seek to help a large number of patients within the shortest time, thus resulting in rushed decisions.

In this case, it is significant to write a memo to each of the management of the organization to seek funding for hiring more nurses. Additionally, considering the congestion in the hospital, it would be significant to write a memo to the management and inform them of the need to refer the other patients to the other neighboring hospitals for help rather than overworking the current staff members ( (Barnsteiner, Reeder, Palma, Preston & Walton, 2010) ). Handling a manageable number of patients while linking with other hospitals in the neighborhood would help staff members to deliver quality while observing the procedures and medical processes with caution. Therefore, quality care delivery will be effected based on EBP.

A nurse is supposed to be a patient's advocate, and it is his or her duty to use EBP in the provision of the best possible care for each patient. The nurse should be in the position of communicating with the patient's family and the patient to understand his or her needs. Using the provided guideline s and innovative ways in the healthcare setting, the nurse is expected to help the patient to support the patient morally, spiritually and even physically up to the time of the patient’s discharge ( (Aitken et al., 2011) ). The nurse can further help with the provision of the best care for the patient so that he or she can reduce the cost incurred for the hospital and the patent especially for the increased number of days he or she will stay in the hospital.
