In the past I have worked with different organizations that have enabled me learn more about creativity and innovation from the manner in which they have creativity and innovation sessions and how individuals present different ideas that help in the decision making of the firms. Employees are provided for time to think and generate their creative ideas into real innovations. This is encouraged through trainings, availing opportunities, motivating employees and allowing them to put their skills in practice. Innovation is everywhere in the current word. It is obvious that leaders should be on the frontline to encourage creativity and innovation through their leadership styles. They should be positive and flexible to embrace and implement new ideas in the work place.

The emergence of new technologies and new business models is enough indicator that people must be ready to embrace new innovations (Fitzgerald, 2014). Organizations are seen to implement new technology as a way of implementing creativity and innovation. Most companies, however, continue to resist change because of the complex manner in the many required procedures that must be undertaken to embrace innovation. There are a variety of steps that leaders can emulate in order to encourage creativity and innovation in the workplace.

Leaders should encourage entrepreneurship in the work place by encouraging employees to come up with new ideas that could be effective in decision-making (De Jong, & Den Hartog, 2007). Research forums should as well be encouraged within organizations by letting individuals look into emerging technologies, reading research articles and writing reports on behalf of the company. Employees can plan for meeting forums where they can present their ideas and experiments so that new innovations can be detected and implemented. Leaders should be role models by encouraging innovation from the top positions. They should be passionate, positive, provide clear directions and be ready to embrace change if they want to successfully implement creativity and innovation at the work place.
