The crime in the video is burglary. Burglary can best be described as the illegal entry into a building with the intention of committing a theft. The site of the crime is a shop referred to as “Reo Wolf.” Following the alarm on the door and the subsequent signaling of the police, we arrived and found the door opened. On searching the premise, we found two middle-aged men. One of the persons claimed that they were homeless and therefore were in the process of looking for shelter.
With the rest of my colleagues, we conducted a further assessment of the building to determine the veracity of their claims. One of our witnesses was the caretaker of the shop who claimed that the suspects had not been authorized to enter the building. Some cigarette packets were also displaced from their original place of storage.

Some of the criminal elements that we assessed, in this case, include the criminal act, intent, causation, and harm. The criminal act at play was the illegal entry into the building. Regardless of whether they opened the door or not, the two individuals were in the wrong place. The shop was somebody's property, and therefore they needed not to have gained unauthorized admission. The criminal intent was also there. The cigarette package was misplaced from its original place, and one of them was opened. As previously described, burglary involves illegal entry into a building with the intention of theft.
The witness denied knowing the two suspects, and more so, signs show that they were about to gain possession of property that was not theirs. Therefore, the intent depicted by the two was criminal in nature. Although the two wanted to misconstrue the causation of their unauthorized entry by blaming homelessness, this was not the case. Based on the chain of events from their entry to the witnesses, it was clear that burglary was the most suitable explanation for their actions.
