There is a wide range of speculations that clarify how individuals wind up mingled but strain theory, as well as social learning theory, are the two main ones. 

Social Learning Theory 

The hypothesis of social learning was founded upon psychological aspects and moulded extraordinarily by Albert Bandura. Elements of Social Learning Theory

With the element of attention, an individual observes what someone else is doing and attempts to do the action themselves. With retention, however, the observer keenly observes what is being done and then keeps the knowledge in mind to be used at a later time. The observer does a recalling of how the action was done. Inspiration/Reinforcement comes to fruition when the spectator desires to be encouraged and motivated by the feedback of the conduct that had been demonstrated. 

Social Learning Theory and Crime 

Sociologists regularly utilize social learning hypothesis to comprehend wrongdoing and abnormality. According to social learning hypothesis, crime results from the interactions that other people have with others who are involved in illegal activities. By so doing, they are steered towards acting upon their observation of crime and are compelled to do what they know to be wrong. They, therefore, begin to view crime as something that is interesting and the more they are involved in it, the more they lose track of the difference between what is right and what is wrong. This theory states that there are three ways in which people are influenced and motivated to participate in a crime. These include beliefs, differential fortification and modelling (Akers, 2017). 

Strain Theory 

The theory of strain explains that when the society fails to fulfil the set objectives, people undergo strain as a result (Robert, 2018). For instance, when a general public spots social incentive on monetary achievement and riches, however just gives lawfully endorsed intends to a little bit of the populace to accomplish these objectives, those prohibited may swing to flighty or criminal methods for achieving them. Strain Theory and Crime

For Merton, this explains why poor individuals often resort to illegal activities so as to thrive within the society. Similarities and Differences 

Strain theory and social learning theory are both sociological speculations. Strain hypothesis, however, is distinguished from social learning hypothesis by what prompts on to be involved in wrongdoing and misconduct. This theory centres on the associations that an individual has with others and which are negative. These are the connections that the individual has not dealt with as he or she needs to be dealt with. Strain hypothesis can cause numerous negative emotions in an individual including annihilation, gloom, and dread, yet the inclination that is most appropriate to wrongdoing is outrage. The strain theory influence makes weight for restorative activity which may lead young people to influence utilization of ill-conceived channels of objective accomplishment, to assault or escape from the wellspring of their affliction, as well as deal with their pessimistic effect using unlawful medications. From a social learning viewpoint, degenerate and criminal lead is found out and supported by means of relationship with family and companion systems.
