Over the past couple of years, there has been an increased rate in the number of crimes that are committed at the workplace. This type of behavior is normally directed towards the employees and may either lead to psychological or physical harm. Even though many employees have filed cases against some of these companies, the prevalence of the sex crimes is still on the rise. This report provides an overview of some organizations that have been involved in sex crimes of harassment, assault or rape.
The Weinstein Company (TWC) was charged with multiple accounts if sexual abuse by many actresses who wished to advance their careers. Many victims have come out to tell their stories of how Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted them, yet the company took no legal action against him. One such case involves Dominique Huet who said that the movie mogul lured her into his room where he sexually assaulted her ( Daily Times, 2017 ). Other victims include Angelina Jolie, Rose McGowan and Ashley Judd.

Walmart was sued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for allegedly allowing their employee to sexually harass another female employee with developmental disabilities for more than 11 years ( The EmpLAWyerologist, 2014 ). The perpetrator of this act made sexual advances towards the victim, Jami wells, by touching her while in store premises. Walmart failed to take immediate action after the case was reported. They fired the victim three weeks after she reported the incidence.
The employees of America’s largest massage franchise, Massage Envy have been accused of sexually assaulting more than 180 women ( Fox News, 2017 ). Former clients accused the employees and management of sex crimes such as unwanted groping, fondling and sexual assault. Even though the victims filed complaints, the management did not take any action to punish those who were responsible.
According to Fodor (2017) , secure Logic CEO Santosh Devaraj was accused of raping a woman on a boat in Sydney’s East. He appeared at the Downing Centre Local Court to deal with charges against sexual intercourse without consent. Apparently, the victim had accompanied the CEO to the boat that was docked at Rose Bay Marina, after which the latter took advantage of the situation and forced the woman into sex. Even though he got out on bail, the married Indian immigrant still has to report to the police twice a week and remain in the country.
Kids Company has been associated with a series of sexual assault and harassment allegations from vulnerable children who attend the program for support ( BBC News, 2015 ). There have been cases of older male clients attending the sessions and exploiting young girls. Even though complaints were filed to the staff and management of the foundation, no action was taken to address the issue. Sexual assaults took place in this company for a period of more than seven months even though no legal action was taken. The company allowed older men in their 20s to attend the events even though these individuals did not qualify. In other instances, female employees also said that they were victims of sexual assault by male co-workers. The number of incidences of child abuse and female sexual harassment had increased even though the cases were not reported to the police. This went on up to the time the company was closed in 2015.
From the case study provided above, it is evident that issues of sexual harassment, rape and abuse are on the rise in many companies. Despite the fact that many companies are made aware of these incidences, they fail toke action against the perpetrators of these crimes.
