Decision-making process is vital in any organization. However, every business is characterized by having a different set of decision-making approaches. Based on this, organizations differ in terms of the challenges they experience during the decision-making process. From a friend, their organization has been experiencing issues in the decision-making process. To his understanding, sound decision-making process entails being focused on ensuring that all the problems are solved. According to literature, the effective decision-making process is not easily achieved since organizations have to adopt smooth strategies (Abubakar et al., 2019). In his organization, this has not been the case since the company has been experiencing challenges in its decision-making process.

The identified challenges are information overload and impulsiveness. Typically, a lot of information is perceivably vital and beneficial during decision-making. However, if the information is too much and not collated properly, this leads to problems since the organization has not succinct approach on how to deal with such. This company has been experiencing this, especially because it employs team working in its approach, and this, at times, becomes overwhelming. When the information is overwhelming, the management has to deal with the issue of impulsiveness. This is a notable problem in the identified organization since they are faced with situations that are associated with time constraints and stress, and there is a lot of pressure to come up with the best decision. Because of the hasty approach, the organization has a high possibility of skipping some important data.

Based on the two decision-making issues, faced by this organization, the most appropriate approach to these challenges is to make sure that they focus on the rational decision-making process. The rational decision-making model is apt for this organization since it helps make sure that all decisions are executed in stages (Abubakar et al., 2019). In doing so, the embraced actions are considerate of the company’s goals and how to maximize them without necessarily jeopardizing the quality of their outcomes. In other words, if this organization is to address the decision-making issues productively, they need to assimilate the formal steps of the decision-making model. This involves been keen on how actions, such as alternatives, will impact its process execution (Courtney, 2001). Additionally, the success in the whole process requires that after team working in pooling choices, the decision-makers focus on three key pieces. These include adopting decision-making frameworks applicable to the organization, adopting approaches that reinforce desirable behaviors in the organization, and formulate governance frameworks that connect the process to the company’s goals and objectives.
