Critical thinking is the ability of an individual to be able to think about soberly and rationally on what to think or believe. The analysis should be objective, and the judgment reasoned. Critical thinking is important when it comes to any sort of decision making. The reason is that one has to consider everything from the rumors to the evidence that has proven through the different experts. One then uses concrete information to form their own opinion instead of depending on what others present as theirs.

A critical thinker does not have to accept everything as it is expected in face value. A critical thinker is also not shy when it comes having to research as that will be able to approach their opinion to include all the set points of views (McPeck, 2016). When you slow down on a decision and apply critical thinking techniques, you get enough time to fully engage with the hypothesis, understand what is happening at the time, what should be expected in the future and also come to better decisions eventually. Critical thinking in positions such as those of leadership allows for the appreciation of the different worldviews and will enhance communication with the different members of system.

An example of an instance where people can be able to apply critical thinking is the event of a demand for pay rise by the employees. Instead of rushing to deny or increase the wages of the employees, the employer should be patient and research on what best to do in the situation (Wisdom, 2015). Amongst the issues to research for include whether the finances can allow that, whether their performance is worthy of their allowance, how much other similar companies pay the same and such. It might not make sense to pay the increase if the organization is on a losing end. In such an instance, it might make sense to negotiate and improved performance first.

The scientific claims are different from the supernatural ones. The main difference is that with scientific claims comes empirical evidence which can be felt or proven. However, when it comes to supernatural phenomena a lot depends on faith. There is usually not much evidence that can be seen, felt or smelled where religious arguments are concerned (Wisdom, 2015). Most of the religious arguments cannot be proven using any of the systems that the scientific world is used to proving different hypothesis. What is more, supernatural arguments cannot be proven using logical reasoning and might mostly sound like imaginary terms.

Science is a field that involves methods that are very strictly and firmly controlled. These include generating and systematically testing the hypothesis. However, when it comes to analyzing the results of the hypothesis, critical thinking is imperative as it helps consider everything even those that are not directly from the experiment or the study itself. Issues that critical thinking can help with include the rationality, logic and synthesis of the analytical thinking style (McPeck, 2016). With critical thinking it is possible to analyze the context that surrounds the experiment or study. As such, a particular finding can be able to be turned into a discovery that eventually goes on to change the lives of people. Without such thinking, that study might just end up in another journal without any real impact in life. The purpose of scientific studies should be able to eventually improve the lives of the people.
