The rest of the population dwells in the countryside, living a not very admirable life.
Communism is solely about democracy, equality in all dimensions, classless society, freedom to choose and freedom from any kind of oppression. Kim Il-sung achieved some of the goals of democracy. However, the moment Kim Jong-il and later Kim Jong-un ruled, they were all discarded. Today, majority of the all North Koreans are being oppressed, and they have no liberty to criticize the government’s un-doings or wrong doings. They cannot express their dissatisfaction with the government, neither can they make their own choices of anything. Otherwise, they risk imprisonment or death.

If China joined in and stopped funding North Kore, the fight against nuclear weapons might start yielding results.
