Cyber security is important for any business. It prevents businesses and organizations from losing sensitive information, money laundering, and business process interruptions. Small businesses are usually vulnerable to cyber-attacks compared to larger businesses. Cyber bullies and criminals are always attracted to smaller businesses. This is because many small businesses lack focus on cyber security matters. They have poor cyber security strategies which make them vulnerable to attacks. Some small businesses even lack a cyber-security team which makes it hard for them to know when an attack has occurred or the solution to the attack. Additionally, small businesses are often cyber attacked due to lack of resources. Most of the small businesses have insufficient funds to cater for skilled cyber security employees which often lead them to do their own research in the case of an attack. Besides, the cost of management of the security systems is often high for small businesses. Also, the cost required for maintenance, and recollection of the business after an attack is always too great for small business which leads to some taking a longer time to recover from the attack, and even others never rise again.

Password hacking is one example of a cyber-security threat that a small business can encounter. The business data passwords, employer’s and even employees passwords can be hacked by cyber criminals. This will enable them have access to the business’s information and accounts. To protect themselves from password hacking, small businesses should incorporate effective security measures by investing in the cyber security section too. Besides, skilled employees and those who have expertise in cyber security should be employed and empowered for effective security of the business from cyber-attacks. Additionally, small businesses should plan for such emergencies and after-attack effects of hacking. This will enable them recover faster from attacks and prevent business downfall due to lack of costs.
