The depopulation in Africa was enormous because the Europeans wanted to reduce them in numbers so that they were either slaves or dead so that they could take over their fertile lands. The Africans were taken to be slaves and some died because of the harsh and unfavorable conditions. All this were done to reduce the numbers of Africans significantly. The Europeans brought different viruses and other disease causing mechanisms to wipe out the undiscerning Africans because it was the only way to take over their territories. It is a situation that is also being tried by world renowned people such as Bill gates through the alleged introduction of Ebola virus in some parts of Africa for instance Congo. Bill gates do this to reduce the number of immigrants flowing to Europe. It is not only an in human act but also depriving of the fundamental right to life. The Europeans had the exploitative motive because the African lands were productive.
The implications of the exploitative process were to obtain wealth and send it back to Europe or settle in the lands of the African people. Similarly, the consequences of the exploitative motive were dire because it made several Africans to lose their identity back home as they were taken to foreign land to work as slaves. They were forced to follow the white man’s culture and they deviated from their rich cultural history. The death of several Africans paved way for the white settlers to amass huge amount of wealth while the owners were subjected to slavery and harsh conditions that even their colonial masters had never encountered. It robed Africans of their pride because they moved from being land owners to squatters and slaves in their own lands. The depopulation was therefore intentional and with a set agenda.
