In this case, I had discussions with my client, who is experiencing depression. The primary element of his depression is behavioral. Ideally, depression is a serious mental illness. According to the World Health Organization, about 300 million across the world are suffering from depression. Frequent anger, loss of interest in everyday activities such as sex, fatigue, feeling worthless, drug use, insomnia, and feeling hopeless are signs associated with a person suffering from depression. Besides, depression affects someone's feelings, thoughts, and behavior; it leads to different emotional and physical problems. For instance, the affected person may have a severe problem of doing normal daily activities.
After carefully analyzing and assessing my client's various behavioral depression symptoms, I chose drugs to get a baseline measure for the depression. Precisely, substance abuse and mental health disorders such as depression are positively linked. A depressed person may decide to substance abuse, such as bhang, alcohol, and cocaine, to feel relaxed. Conversely, substance abuse worsens the mental state of the person. High use of substance abuse such as alcohol, bhang, and other dangerous drugs shows that the user is somehow depressed and wants to burry deep thoughts. The way my client is using substance abuse will help me determine his level of depression. According to my assessment, my client seems to suffer from depression from time to time, especially when the financial crisis hit him. When he gets some substantial amount of money, he usually regains his usual health and life. His level of depression is not severe since it can be managed. There is no sure way one can prevent depression; however, one needs to control stress and receive treatment when depression signs start to register.
