The police often conduct the responsibility of environmental laws. The early policy activities involved countering illegal and criminal activities such as poaching. However, over time environmental laws expanded to regulating emerging environmental issues like pollution (Holley and Shearing, 2016). The expansion gave rise to various administrative agencies and regulations to deal with criminal injustices, among the administrators that established powers and procedures to be carried out in a police cohort.

General orders provide guards, including sentries, and officers' guidelines to follow during specific duties. However, unlike special orders, which are temporary, general orders remain in full effect until instructed otherwise by the Chief of Police. In the law enforcement environment, recruits are expected to memorize general orders before basic training or boot camp. Officers are expected to recite the orders, demonstrating their capability to act accordingly to quick environmental changes. General orders are used to train officers to be alert and follow the given orders (Sparrow, 2014). For instance, officers are required to report incidents that occur during their duties. Officers use general duties to save people's lives and properties and prevent accidents by following the instructions on how to handle incidents as guided during their training. In the private sector, the general orders are used for equally the same purpose of ensuring people's safety and their properties as in public sectors. The differing part is that the organization's owner gives the rules of the private sector. In the corporate world, similar circumstances would be applied.

Special orders are used in the public sector to make official proclamations that are of great importance. Examples of special orders in public sectors are formal announcements such as honoring service retirements or commendations from the Chief of Police. Special orders are numbered starting with the last two digits of the year, and then the number follows "01". For example, a special order of the year 2011 will be #11-01. Special orders are administered via emails, posted on bulletin boards, or printed on certificates for the appropriate members in a law enforcement environment. In the private sector, special orders are given by the head of the department or institution. The orders are issued when emergency actions are required to be implemented temporarily and only employees who have extra qualifications or skills. The owner of the company decides how they want to administer special orders to their employees.

Personnel orders are used in a law environment to communicate changes made in one's personnel status. Personnel orders can be positive or negative news from the seniors. For instance, it is a complimentary order when promoting staff members or giving employment leaves while terminating their employment will be an adverse order. Private sectors, as well as use personnel orders to communicate about staff members' status. The head of the company can summon the staff member in the office to pass the information privately. In the corporate world, the use of personnel order in the business is similar to the public and private sectors.

Memoranda orders are used to inform, inquire, and direct staff on what is expected of them. In public sectors, members are not likely to disclose the department’s Memoranda to those outside their chain of command or outsiders without authorization. Staff members also use memorandum in the private sector as a reference to the duties they are expected to perform. The company owner can decide to print a memo that has indexes to indicate where instructions are located. Most companies find it convenient to use memorandum within their organizations to ensure orderly and excellent performance by their staff members.

Policy department manuals are used to provide staff members with directions and guidance of the departments' operations. In the public sector, staff should be involved in manual development and notified if the manual changes. The manuals should be written clearly and simple to use. A clear and straightforward manual is essential in both the private, public and corporate worlds because it is useful in ensuring that the employees perform their roles as per what is expected. Bulletins are used when giving instructions or notifying. Also, bulletins may include instructions to be included in the manual.

In conclusion, the public sector's directives relate to those in the private sector and the corporate world is because these directives re given to promote the safety of the citizens and their properties. Both of these business organizations must operate under a set of rules for their employees to follow. The only differences with the directives are how they are administered and administering them as per various organizations. In the public sector, the orders are mostly addressed by the Chief of Police. While in the private sector, the owner of the company is the one that gives instructions.
