Over the years, there have been technological developments and especially to include the disabled in the community. Playgrounds are now being made in a way that everybody can be accommodated. Whether disabled or not, playgrounds infrastructure is now developed I a way that all can access them. In other words, playground innovations have not only been created to go beyond just accessible to a specific type of individuals but also inclusive of all. This essay will analyze how wheelchair accessible playgrounds have become tools of innovation.

This source is research conducted to determine accessibility and usability of playgrounds in the United States. The primary of the argument of this source is that there are more that can be done to improve the accessibility of playing grounds for the disabled individuals. It states that there are improvements on ways to promote accessibility of playgrounds by the disabled but, enough is not done. It goes on to recommend some ways of ensuring that the problem is dealt with once and for all. In addition, it states that playgrounds that are built without considering the accessibility of the disabled should be stopped from functioning until they do so. Otherwise, it is a form of discrimination against the disabled.

The website mainly serves the purpose of promoting some playgrounds that are equipped with facilities that disabled children with wheelchairs can access. Besides promoting the playgrounds, it goes further to explain what other playgrounds can do to promote accessibility. It also encourages playground owners to equip their playgrounds with facilities that can allow accessibility of children with wheelchairs. Testimonies of children on their wheelchairs have been given to show their experiences in accessing such playgrounds. It says that as much as it would cost more to make, it is a necessary step to promote equality in society and promote the morale of those plagued with disability in the community.

This is a documentary film of a young man who was inspired by his disabled brother to build a playground. He states that discrimination in other playgrounds prompted him to build a playground so that his disabled brother can also have fun. He not only becomes successful in building a playground for his brother but also invites all other children with disability to come and use the facility. This is a fantastic source inspired by love for a brother to make something beautiful so that the disabled brother’s life can be comfortable.

This topic mainly touches on accessibility, disability rights, and assistive technology. It talks about accessibility by encouraging playground owners to design their facilities in a way that people with wheelchairs can easily access. On the issue of disability rights, it states that even the disables have a right to access playgrounds and play as the others do. Lastly, assistive technologies such as wheelchairs are mentioned as ways of enhancing disabled people access to playgrounds. It relates to the fundamental area through the use of assistive technology such as wheelchairs to make the life of the disabled easier.

I used to think that the disabled cannot access playgrounds. I thought like that because I have not seen equipment in a playground designed for the disabled. Now I think that disabled people can access playgrounds. I think that now having realized that there are ways of making it possible for them.

Disability is a tool of innovation in that new ideas can be used to make the lives of the disabled more comfortable. Wheelchairs is one of the innovated equipment that is proof of innovation as a result of disability.
