Also, the equipment that would be used during the process should be identified and provided in the event of the occurrence of the floods. Finally, it is useful for the preparedness plan and steps to be reviewed with the employees and other stakeholders to ensure that they are conversant with it and prevent injuries.
Nurses have a critical role in the event of disasters. Nurses undertake training as stakeholders in disaster preparedness and management to ensure that they are up to date with the preparedness programs. Additionally, the training helps them to identify potential disasters and thus prepare adequately for them to mitigate injuries while ensuring that optimal care is provided for individuals affected ( Kollek, 2013) . Noting that nurses have in-depth knowledge in the provision of care in emergencies, they will collaborate with other health officials and stakeholders to ensure that the disaster preparedness is objective.
