There is a special bond between ethics and diversity. As a result, it is difficult to hold an ethical talk without including diversity as a topic. The two fields share a common ground. Ethics serve as the fertile soil where the seeds of diversity germinate, and the understanding of the relationship between ethics and diversity grows. Ethics talk needs to consider an ethical perspective in a situation where people hold different ethical views. In this manner, the discussion becomes inclusive of each person's ethical perspective despite their ethnic or racial background.

There is a connection between ethics and diversity. A good example is the field of journalism. First journalists must seek the truth. Through an ethical action of truth-seeking, the journalists give freedom and voice to different people including the minority groups in the society. The minority groups, in this case, are those people often neglected by the mainstream media. Also, Ethics demands that a journalist must be autonomous or make an independent decision. This ethical principle creates an environment where journalist must seek out and disseminate information to every person without being influenced by racial, ethnic or color. In this sense, the journalist must ensure that every person receives the news in an appropriate, manner despite their ethical or cultural background. Such an act brings about diversity. In this sense, it is also important to note that when a journalist makes an excellent ethical decision, the diversified community feel the influence and enjoy the benefits. Moreover, diversity brings about autonomy. For instance, it creates a sense of independence among journalists by broadening the base of news sources ( Brown, 2016).

Nevertheless, there is an ethical principle of avoiding harm. This is critical and is directly linked to diversity. When one avoids harm, he or she is obliged to protect every person despite their culture or racial background. In this sense, diversity comes into the mind of an ethically oriented person before he or she makes a decision that can cause psychological, physical or social harm to people of a particular group.
